How to Use

• Usage
  Properly prepared interior and exterior surfaces, including wood, vinyl, metal and previously painted surfaces.
• Prep
  Surfaces must be clean, dry and dull prior to application. Thoroughly clean the surface and allow to dry. Remove wallpaper and loose, peeling paint. Scrape and sand peeled or damaged paint. Sand glossy surfaces dull. All dust, chalk, mold and mildew, and rust should be removed. Drywall: Fill cracks and holes with joint compound and sand smooth. Plaster: Must be dry, fully cured and in good condition. Remove all chalky residue. Wood: Sand to a fresh surface. Patch imperfections with wood filler. Heavily stained areas, including tannin stains on wood, may require an appropriate stain-blocking primer. Masonry: All new surfaces must be cured according to the supplier’s recommendations — usually about 30 days. Remove all form release and curing agents. Rough surfaces can be filled to provide a smooth surface. Metal: New galvanized surfaces should be allowed to age 6 months before painting. Wash to remove any oil, grease or other surface contamination using a water-based cleaner-degreaser. Do not use hydrocarbon solvents for cleaning. Remove all corrosion with sandpaper, steel wool or other abrading method. See technical data page for additional surface prep. Clean Mildew from the Surface: Mildew is a fungus that looks like dirt but won’t wash off. Mildew must be removed before painting, or it will grow through any new coat of paint. To remove mildew or suspected mildew, scrub surface before painting with a commercial mildew remover following manufacturer’s safety instructions.
• Application
  Stir primer thoroughly before and during use. Apply with a premium-quality polyester brush, roller or airless sprayer. If applying by sprayer, back-roll or back-brush to work primer into the surface. Apply a liberal coat of primer uniformly, working well into the surface. Apply at temperatures above 35°F. Prior to painting, check to be sure the air, surface and material temperatures are above 35°F and at least 5°F above the dew point. Avoid using if rain or snow is expected within 2-3 hours. Air and surface temperatures must not drop below 35°F for 48 hours after application
• Dry Time
  Dry Time @ 77 °F and 50 % Relative Humidity
  To The Touch: 30 minute - 1 hour
  Recoat: 1 hour
• Clean-up & Disposal
  Clean up with warm, soapy water.
