2022 COLOR OF THE YEAR

Aleutian

Cool. Warm. Relaxing. It’s no surprise this dreamy, washed indigo is the 2022 Color of the Year. Using a monochromatic palette makes any room feel larger … and more elegant. Accessories are inspired by the sister colors of the palette and the rough, metallic-and-wood dresser contrasts well with the soft bedding to deliver a peaceful, meditative space.

Retreat

Retreat … together. Shared spaces are the ideal rooms to explore colorful neutrals like this soft, organic green. Bringing color, especially those inspired by nature, to the island and cabinetry helps ground the setting in an open floor plan. The color also helps bring a sense of calm to an active, life-filled room.

FEATURED COLOR

Stone Isle

The strong, angled roofs of the HGTV® Dream Home 2022 are an integral part of the inspired exterior and interior work of designer Brian Patrick Flynn. When impactful angles like these are combined with eclectic accessory choices, it may be hard to know where wall color should meet ceiling color. A monochromatic neutral, like Stone Isle, on both walls and ceiling can help draw the eye up to the ceiling’s architecture as well as make the room look larger. Brian Patrick Flynn also brought the beauty of the outdoors in with orange and yellow accents inspired by the Vermont scenery.

Slate Tile

This deep, grey blue is a wonderful grounding neutral to help you create a private nook in the home or to use on a textured accent wall to separate one space from another. It works well with warm tones, too, like the red undertones of the leather couch. Complement the exterior foliage with pops of color in the interior to brings the outside in.
