TIPS AND TRICKS

Soft. Clean and Comfortable

f there’s one room where clean and comfortable are king, it’s the bedroom. Nebulous White is a great wall shade for those who want a white without starkness. It has a slight tint of gray while still being a clean white. A soft headboard in a warmer tone balances the cool, as do blue tones in the accent pillows and rug. Go “extra” with Extra White on windows and trims to welcome morning light.

Delicious Design Notes

In open concept homes, using a white wall and extending a single trim color throughout lets you bring in color while keeping connection between rooms. In this room, the Alabaster shade of white brings brightness inside, while a very appealing modern touch is added with the black window trim and black table.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Warm Light

A warm white, Canvas Tan brightens the all-important transitional room, the foyer, as it reflects light coming in through the windows.  An even warmer canvas and wood chair and rug balance cooler tones. The light fixture hints to a bit of luxury and brings a more modern touch to a traditional room. Don’t be afraid to mix metals, like the door handle. It shows your home (and tastes) evolve. Extending the Oxford White trim to the next room helps draw the visitor inside.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Framed

No large piece of art? No problem. You can always frame a window! Find a personal item or two and make those a focal point. Keep it simple with a balanced (warm and cool) palette like this, using Antique White on the walls and warmer tones in furniture and accessories. Greenery is always welcome, too.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Modern Lines

Look up. Don’t forget the importance of ceiling paint. High Reflective White captures light and plays with it throughout the day. Pick up the palette of pillows and artwork to coordinate and complement Pure White walls. Pure White adds a subtle contrast and brings out slight dimension from the fireplace.
